Dr. Acker's talk was a thoughtful discussion on the differences
between charm and psychopathology: eccentric or crazy? He does not practice the quick
analysis portrayed on television. Especially in sensitive cases involving possible child
abuse, it is vital to determine if or who is lying. He proceeds by establishing a developmental history of the person. In conversations with
the client, he prefers a dialogue rather than Question-and-Answer so as not to prompt
a leading response. He applies a range of tests from general aptitude, to Rosch (ink blot),
to MMPR which is a profile test with a variable scale.![]() |
He considers tests a useful tool,
however cautions that there are many acceptable interpretation formulas for these tests
which give different results. Dr. Acker discussed examples from past files, including his collection of psychological
tests administered to defendants before the Nuremburg Trials. The evening ended on a high plateau when Kathleen asked Dr. Acker about Tin Foil People.
Check with Kathleen to determine if you rate. Personally, I line the soles of my shoes
with the stuff. Those sneaky Radon rays aren't going to get me . . .
