We're a non-profit organization celebrating the richness
and diversity of language. We were founded in 1991 to
''stimulate public interest in literacy, through the spoken
and written word, as central to our understanding of ourselves
and the world around us.'' We're affiliated with the Library of Congress Center for the Book. There are Centers in 50 states.
